The Brief

This three-bedroom apartment was to be extensively refurbished to a standard that reflected its exclusive location in London. All-new plumbing and electrical services were required throughout, as well as a new kitchen and a new terrace. We had to address the layout of the whole apartment so that we could improve the circulation between all rooms, as well as comfortably accommodating a beautiful ensuite bathroom for each bedroom.

What we Did

We were appointed as architects for the refurbishment of this Grade II Listed apartment in a very sought-after area of London. From the outset we knew that our first and most important task would be to steer the design proposal successfully through both the Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission processes. We gained the necessary approvals from Westminster City Council and then went on to coordinate the full tender package for the contractors. We had a very concentrated focus on the overall budget. We knew our client wanted to add specific value to the property, whilst ensuring all the changes respected the significant history of the building and its Grade II Listed status.
